she insisted it was her wedding day, so she decided she needed a photographer…
the last one on the right is priceless. while she was putting a flower in here hair she had her hands like that the entire time and her eyes closed as if taking in the moment. it only comes once in a lifetime you know?
have a lovely evening!

I really like summer hair…
it’s not the same as any other kind of Season….. because in the summer time it’s allowed to be messy.
I got these pictures when the sassy post nap six year troudled (is that a word? lets go ahead and say it is) out of her bed to get a juice. She whipped her head away to avoid the camera. snap snap. caught the hair.
have a lovely day!

a sweet birthday party;)… more to come:
a project on my wall… more to come:
this past week has been CRAZY! in case any of you follow me on twitter and don’t know this, but i have completely fallen off the face of the internet for the last 5 weekdays. therefore, not many updates. But I will be better at it this week;)
WEEKEND UPDATES:
all Summer my mini fujifilm hasn’t been functioning. I figured it was because I dropped it at some point. It turns out i had the batteries in wrong. haha. welcome to my world. But, My evening was officially rated AMAZING after i got it to work again. I forget how much i love the ghetto-ness of it.
My weekend was filled with cupcakes, fujifilm, old pictures at my grandparents house, Swimming, my sealion, Mumford and Sons, The National, LA ink, brunches, Scrap booking my wall, sleep, a one year olds birthday party, and a purple chocolate cake. In case you didn’t catch on I didn’t use the weekend for updating any of you too much, besides a few twitter chirps. It was a much needed break after a freak week which, by the way, was anything but ideal. SO, to spare you my pitty ramblings, i’ll just update you on the weekend. It was documented mainly by the instant, which makes me love the weekend even more: no messing with computers, editing, an 800 LB camera or putting my mind on a creative setting. The instant does all that for me :p
let me know what you think!
have a Lovely evening!

She is my Sealion
A picture that focuses on those beautiful fine, bronze locks, has a BIG place in my book.
My dear sealion… our lives are distant…. but our hearts are close, despite it all.
Me and Sealion have many similarities in our tastes of art… for instance in the 6th grade we both were obsessed with Feist and Tegan & Sara.
and last night i was listening to Tegan & Sara and Feist, while thinking about my Sealion. And i realized the lyrics were strangely relevant to my feelings toward her. or, i should say, my mind put them in such a way to seem so. I instantly pulled up the gmail and typed out the lyrics as fast as i could as Feist and Tegan & Sara sang them. I’d say it’s a whole new kind of art.
Dear sea lion,
Oh and im feeling directionless yes, but thats to be expected, and i know that best. I want to draw you a floorplan of my hidden heart. I feel you in my heart. I felt you in my legs before i ever met you. we met but when i was so strange and likeable. I just want back in your head, im not unfaithful but ill stray, when i get a little scared. so sorry. I miss you now i guess like i should have missed you then. You cant just hop a plane and come and visit me again. but honey honey this is how my heart behaves: i feel it all. The limit to my love is from The Water to The Park you are my past in present. you are my brandy alexander, you always get me into trouble, i hide that i am flattered. I feel like a fool so im going to stop troubling you. take it i am yours.
Love,
~emma~
July 29, 2010 - 11:33 p - brought a tear to my eye. and a smile to my face.
the past week has consisted of hiking, waterfalls, bison, mud pits, yellowstone and Colorado.
lovely.
But it does take about a complete 36 hours total in the car going back and forth from Colorado, Texas and Wyoming…. So that means NO wifi. UNTIL this wonderful Holiday inn in Steamboat springs, Colorado (i love this blessed hotel). So i decided to sieze this opportunity and give you a little sneak of what’s to come of this vacation. So here are a few that are catching my eye of the past few days.
now, off to another 4 hour drive to Salida, Co.
let me know what you think!
~emma~
Ps- i am working on some Christmas and newborn packages so be on the look out! especially for the holidays in the upcoming months, you don’t want to put that off!
Pss- PLEASE vote for my jones soda labels here. It will really help me out with my blog and stuff!
Pss- check out the new Masthead/slideshow images!
while driving the two and a half hour drive to Salida, CO, and while people are arguing and stressed with the windy and confused route, i decided to stick my head out the window and maybe get a lucky shot of river and Mountains. My kind of escape…
this was my lucky shot…
more to come within the next few days!
have a lovely day and tell me what you think
~emma~
These are the leftovers from last weekend and here is the story to how it got online…

I’ve been looking at erinvey a lot lately and i decided i should be a little copy cat with her videos and pictures of dogs
… I realize it’s not an amazing video… I thought I would test it out:)
The dogs on an almost summer day from Emma Tamplin on Vimeo.

Today was one of those days that just has you dying for summer. 80 degree weather plus calm afternoon with just the dogs, in a T shirt and shorts, make me all buttery inside. We spent all last summer dealing with construction and NOT living in a house… this summer will be much welcomed as a result of this. I can’t wait to just spend time on my photography and books and the pool and people. I can’t wait to take more pictures in the shiny new sun with more people. I hope your summer will be great…
have a lovely evening!
